Dubleplus music was born out of necessity to 6 proud dads in the deepest freezes of Montreal winter. since 1999 we have played in a band called the delegates. When we started playing we sucked really bad. No one wanted to help us put out records or go on tour. We kept playing and working hard and having fun. We made our own merch. We got a little better. No one wanted to help us put out a record or go on tour. We put out our own record and booked our own tour. We kept working hard and having fun and along the way started to learn a little about how the music "industry" works. We did our own press. We booked lots more shows. We got a little better at doing it ourselves. Still no one wanted to help us put out a record or book a tour. So we booked 2 more north american tours ourselves. The tours got better. Everyday we hit the streets and sold records. We sold more records. Soon we could afford to record another CD. We drove to california and recorded it in our friend Mike's garage. Like each tour, this record was better than the last. Some people wanted to put it out. We were reluctant at first. The we said ok. We booked our own tour, it was pretty fucking fun. We played hauled our own stage and played three weks on the warped tour. It was hard work. Our record came out. Not much changed. The record label took half of the money we made for doing nothing. We booked another tour. We did our own press. We made our own merch. We cooked our own food in the parking lots of venues. We changed our own flat tires at 2:00 AM in the middle of the Arizona desert. We sold 1000 CDs off the stage in 3 months. Our label sold 91. We said fuck this. And then made this website.
